Clyde N. Swift, age 72, of Carver, formerly of Middleborough, died on Monday, June 10, 2019, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.
Born in Middleborough, he was the son of the late Clyde & Betty (DeMoranville) Swift. Clyde grew up in Middleborough and graduated from Middleborough High School, Class of 1966. He continued his education at Massasoit Community College and earned his Associate's Degree. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. For 33 years, Clyde served on the Middleborough Police Department and retired as a Lieutenant. He was an avid golfer and a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Clyde was the beloved husband for 51 years to Nancy A. (Mello) Swift; devoted father of Adam Swift & his wife Leslie of Peabody; loving grandfather of Ethan and Isabella; dear brother of David of Middleborough and Sue Ellen of North Carolina.
Visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 2:00-4:00 PM.
Funeral and interment services will be private.
