Richard (Rick) W. Kyrouz, Jr., a lifelong resident of Middleborough, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-West Campus in Boston, after a brief illness. He was 55 years old.
He was the son of the late Richard W. Kyrouz, Sr. & Carol (Mahoney) Kryouz. He was loved like a second son by Susan Martin of Lakeville. He attended Middleborough schools and Keene State College. He worked many years at Savas Liquors and later at Freitas Liquors; Middleborough and Lakeville residents would also remember him from Panesis and Middleboro Clothing Company.
Rick is survived by his sister, Kelly Kyrouz of Tavares, Florida; three nieces, Jennifer Harju of Florida, Cari Kennedy (Harju) of South Carolina, Christina Harju of Florida; one nephew, James Harju of South Carolina; five grand-nephews, Kyle and Tyler Shumsky of South Carolina, Caleb Harju and Gavin Bailey of Florida and Elijah Santiago of Florida and many cousins and friends.
He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. His fondest memories growing up were spending time at Long Pond in Lakeville with his friend, Bob Martin and Bob's wife Dee, Jane Martin and Ann (Martin) Mici & her husband Ardian.
A memorial service will be held at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 10:00 AM.
Interment services will be private.
