Marilyn C. (Guilford) Clauson, age 82, of Middleborough, died on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at The Royal of Cotuit Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mashpee, after a brief illness.
Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Olive (Mattheson) Guilford.
Marilyn (or “Connie” as she was known to all), lived in Middleborough most of her life. It was there that she married her beloved husband, George L. Clauson. She was a friend to many and known for her sense of humor and unique laugh. She was very patriotic and supported many veterans organizations, as George was a U.S. Navy veteran.
She is survived by her sister, Faythe Merrifield of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her husband, George L. Clauson; her sister, Peggy; her brothers, Earl, Edward, Byron, and Ronald (Guilford).
Marilyn (Connie) was laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne with her late husband, George L. Clauson.
A gathering of remembrance will be planned for some time in the Spring in the Middleborough area.
