Ralph N. Stevens, age 89, of Middleborough, died peacefully surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at his home.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Ralph & Arleen (Pratt) Stevens. Ralph was a lifelong resident of Middleborough and was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed duck hunting and fishing all of his life. For many years, he worked for the highway departments in the towns of Middleborough, Carver and Wareham. Ralph was a mason, a member of the Middleborough Elks Lodge, and was most proud of his Mayflower ancestry on his mother's side of the family. In later years, he was a groundskeeper at the LeBaron Hills Country Club in Lakeville. A caring and loving man, Ralph will be sorely missed.
Ralph was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Dwyer) Stevens; loving father of Wendy Stevens of Middleborough, Jeffrey Stevens & his wife Sabine of Alabama and Bradford Stevens & his wife Kimberly of Mashpee; cherished grandfather of Melissa Stevens, Alisa Knott, Valerie Stevens, Natalie Stevens, Brian Stevens, Daniel Stevens and great-grandfather of Jackson Knott, Ava Knott and Madison Knott; dear brother of William Stevens of Rotonda, Florida and the late Robert Stevens. He is also survived by his great-cousin, Mary Bussell of Lewiston, Maine and his beloved dog, Bella and his longtime friend, Fred Corria of Lakeville.
There will be NO visiting hours.
Funeral and Interment services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ralph's memory may be made to the Masonic Lodge in Middleborough or the Compassionate Care Hospice of Southeastern Massachusetts, 100 Myles Standish Boulevard, Suite 103, Taunton, MA 02780.
