Richard A. McKnight, age 89, of Middleborough, formerly of Wareham and Carver, died on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the Vibra Hospital in New Bedford.
Born in Malden, he was the son of the late Alan McKnight and the late Evelyn (Carson). Richard grew up in Malden, attended public schools and was a graduate of Malden High School. He entered the service, first in the U.S. Navy then the U.S. AirForce and after 14 years, was honorably discharged. Richard worked for Boeing Company for many years before retiring. He enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and was a baseball fan, especially for the Atlanta Braves.
Richard was the beloved husband for 45 years to the late Virginia "Ginny" L. (Wheeler) McKnight; loving brother of Marilyn Paladino & her husband Frank of Wakefield, Gayle Stulzaft of Billerica, James McKnight & his wife Vera of Melrose, Donald McKnight & his wife Carol of Malden and the late John Lockhart & his surviving wife Judy of Wakefield; step-father of Clifford McKnight and Christine Hale. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside Services at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Connery Avenue, Bourne, on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:15 AM. **LIMIT OF 25 PEOPLE ALLOWED AT THE CEMETERY**
